Make sure the wiring complies with all local codes and ordinances.
Check
to make sure that line voltage wiring is properly connected. Refer to the control label
and the appliance wiring diagram for color codes. Note that wire colors
may vary according to the control manufacturer. For the R7184A control:
The black lead (L1) from the R7184A control will connect to the limit of
the appliance.
The white lead (L2) from the R7184A control will connect
all neutrals (L2) from the oil burner motor, igniter or ignition transformer
and optional valve. The blue lead from the R7184A will connect to the
solid state igniter or ignition transformer. The orange lead from the
R7184A will connect to the motor. The cad cell connections are spade
terminals on the bottom of the R7184A.
This is the basic wiring for
all the R7184 controls. As features are added so is additional wiring,
as we will discuss in the next slides.
