Interrupted vs. Intermittent Duty
In older style, non-flame retention burners, the flame was unstable and needed the constant energy of the spark to keep burning. These burners used intermittent ignition. Intermittent Duty Ignition is the ignition method in which the spark is present the entire time the burner is firing.
